Why we reached out
More than 150 events a year, on top of the everyday visitation that makes South Bank one of Australia's most-visited public spaces — from the Brisbane Festival and Riverfire to community events like Run Army. That kind of scale, running continuously, is exactly where a platform like ours tends to help.

Quick to deploy
This isn't an infrastructure project. Where you already have cameras, our analytics run on them. Where you don't, our own nodes go up on a pole, a wall or a temporary mount — and come down again just as easily.

How we start
We don't start by telling you what to buy. We sit down with your team and work through what's actually worth capturing across the precinct — what you need on the day, what you need to report on, and what's worth holding onto for years.

Your capture standard
The real value isn't the first event you measure — it's every event after it being measured the same way. We help you write that down: a capture SOP your team owns, so the numbers stay comparable no matter who's running the day.

What we can sense
Different questions need different sensors. We mix them to suit the site, and every reading lands in the same place.
The point of all this
Sensors are just plumbing. What matters is what a producer, an event manager or a precinct planner can finally settle with evidence instead of opinion.
Activations & engagement
A sponsor or a tenant asking “was it worth it?” deserves better than a gate number and a shrug. We measure the footprint they paid for.

Alerts & automations
Nobody watches a dashboard all day. We set the thresholds with you, then the system tells the right person on the channel they actually check.

Vehicle management
Crowds arrive in something. Counting vehicles at the entries and car parks tells you about the event before a single person reaches a gate.
Also in Aura
Aura carries more than the analytics. We'll be straight with you — these aren't best-in-class, and we won't pretend otherwise. But for most events they're enough to get the job done without buying and integrating another tool.

Reporting & impact
Because every event is captured to the same standard, the reporting writes itself — and it holds up in front of a board, a grant panel or a commercial partner.

How it works
1
We sit down with your team and agree what's worth capturing, measuring and keeping — and write it down as your capture standard.
2
Your existing cameras come online through Vision; nodes go up where they're needed. No trenching, no cabling, no site works.
3
Counts, occupancy and alerts stream into Aura OS every day — not just on event days.
4
After each event we review what the data showed, deliver the report, and tune the standard for the next one.
Getting started
You shouldn't have to buy anything to find out whether this is worth doing. The demo and the scoping are on us — what follows is a normal paid engagement, priced against what we've agreed to put in.
Proof, on our own turf
“Working with Artefact Group and their CrowdSense technology at the Brisbane Cycling Festival has been a gamechanger for us. The real-time crowd density and movement pattern monitoring ensured we maintained safety compliance and enhanced the overall visitor experience. The actionable recommendations provided by Artefact Group have given us a clear path to improve future events, from better vendor placements to targeted entertainment options.”

Also on the tools
“Running site ops on a festival the size of Laneway, you live or die by whether you can see what's actually happening at the gates and in the crowd — not what someone radios in three minutes late. CrowdSense gave us that picture live, across the whole site, so calls got made off real numbers instead of a guess and a walkie-talkie.”
“A red carpet only works if the crowd behind it does too. CrowdSense let us watch queue length and density outside the cinema in real time, so we could move people before a line became a problem — and back it up afterwards with real numbers on reach and dwell for the studio.”
CrowdSense
An hour with your team is enough to map what's worth capturing across the precinct. We'll show you live counts from a real site, then talk about what it looks like at South Bank.
