Your Cameras, Your PC, Your Video. Only the Numbers Leave.

CrowdSense Desktop runs the AI on a Windows PC or server inside your network. The video is analysed there and stays there; the portal receives anonymous counts and events, nothing else.

The Problem

Cloud Video Analytics Means Sending Video Somewhere

Many analytics services work by streaming camera footage to a data centre. For a council, a hospital, a school or a venue with a privacy policy to keep, that is often where the conversation ends: footage of the public leaves the site and someone else holds it.

CrowdSense Desktop does the analysis on hardware you own, on your network. What leaves is text: a line crossed, a zone joined, a count. The footage stays where it was recorded.

Capabilities

Private by Design, Useful Anyway

Analysis on your hardware

The AI models run on your Windows PC or server, next to your cameras.

Text, not video

Only anonymous events and counts are sent to the portal. No video and no images are uploaded.

Low bandwidth

Because only text is sent, a modest internet connection is enough. No video upload means no video upload bill.

Every analytic, locally

People, vehicles, queues, occupancy, zones, loitering, heatmaps and tracks, all computed on site.

A full portal anyway

Dashboards, custom reports, alerts, widgets, unlimited users with roles and multi-site views.

Your recordings stay yours

Scheduled and event recording is kept on your own PC, under your own retention rules.

How It Works

Private Analytics in Four Steps

  1. 01

    Install on a Windows PC

Download CrowdSense Desktop and install it on a Windows 10, 11 or Server PC on the same network as your cameras, then sign in.

  2. 02

    Add your cameras

Paste in each camera’s RTSP address, find it over ONVIF, or plug in a webcam. Choose the detection profile that fits each camera: people, vehicles and people, or faces.

  3. 03

    Draw lines and zones

Draw the lines and zones each camera needs. All the video analysis happens on the PC.

  4. 04

    Use the events

Counts and events reach the portal, the REST API and your webhooks. The video does not.

Camera set-up

Where to Put the Camera

Detection profile: whichever fits each camera. Any IP camera that streams over RTSP works, with ONVIF optional, and so does a USB webcam.

Hardware and camera requirements →
  • Windows 10, 11 or Server, 64-bit, with a CPU that supports AVX2. AI profiles will not run without it.

  • As a guide: an i3 with 8 GB runs about 3 to 6 AI feeds, an i5 with 16 GB about 5 to 10, an i7 with 32 GB about 7 to 15, and an i9 with 64 GB and a GeForce RTX card 30 or more.

  • Put the PC on the same network as the cameras. It needs an outbound internet connection to send events to the portal.

  • One feed is one camera stream. Count your feeds before you size the PC: see the hardware guide.

Pricing

Pay per Camera, per Event or per Month

All prices in Australian dollars, excluding GST. One feed is one camera stream.

Event pass

$195

per feed, per event

One event is one primary location, one name and branding, up to 5 days. Feeds go live 14 days before the first day for set-up and testing; dashboards and the post-event report stay readable for 3 months after.

Always-on

From $39

a feed a month, yearly plan

For venues that count every day. Month to month it is $69 a feed for up to 9 feeds, and less at volume. Every band is on the pricing page.

Free trial

14 days

up to 4 feeds

A card is taken at sign-up. Nothing is charged until day 15, and you can cancel any time before then.

Who It's For

Who Needs It to Stay On Site

Councils and government

Footfall and occupancy in public spaces without public footage leaving council systems.

Stadiums and major venues

Analytics on the venue’s own camera network, under the venue’s own policies.

Health and education

Patient flow, campus occupancy and queue data, with the video kept inside the network.

Events with strict terms

Promoters and sponsors who need measurement without a third party holding footage.

Privacy

Video Stays on Your PC. Only the Numbers Leave.

CrowdSense Desktop analyses the video on the Windows PC it is installed on. What reaches the portal is text: a line was crossed, a zone filled, a queue grew. No video and no images are uploaded, and nothing sent can identify a person.

The software detects people and vehicles so it can count them; it does not identify anyone. No facial recognition, no biometric identification of people. Ever. Your cameras, your recordings and your footage stay on your site, under your control.

FAQ

On-premise & private AI, Answered

What exactly is sent to the cloud?

Text events and counts: for example, a line crossed in a direction at a time, a zone joined, an occupancy value. No video, no images and nothing that identifies a person.

Does it need internet?

Yes, an outbound connection, so the events reach the portal for dashboards, reports, the API and webhooks. Because it is text only, a modest connection is enough.

What PC do I need?

Windows 10, 11 or Server, 64-bit, with an AVX2 CPU. An i5 with 16 GB runs about 5 to 10 AI feeds. The hardware guide has the full table.

See the hardware guide

Can I use an existing server?

Yes, if it meets the requirements. Many sites run it on a PC or server they already have on the camera network.

Who keeps the recordings?

You do. Scheduled and event recordings are stored on your own PC, under your retention rules.
